Post by: craigjwoodfield on April 30, 2021, 07:48:16 AM
Anyone had a chance to look at it and consider the changes?

looked briefly, the rules look unchanged but lots of changes to troop listings, mostly taking out melee dice but also lots of shifts in points values

Had a play of the new edition. Far more balanced. Points changed and melee rules too. A much better game than the original.

There are some subtle changes from the original rules, especially in regards to point costs, I get the impression, it has been properly play tested this time, and gives a good quick skirmish game.

Would have needed more than subtle changes to make it playable in my opinion. I will give it a miss.

There is a SPQR section on the Warlords games web page, the rule book is on page three.

Thanks and yikes, that's expensive given the price of the starter set.

Unfortunately you must have missed their offer where you could have bought a pack of SPQR figures for £15 and had the new rules thrown in free. I agree it does seem expensive in relation to the cost of the starter set.
