Title: Barons War rules
Post by: KarwickWingmaker on May 14, 2021, 05:00:24 PM
Hey all,

I’ve seen loads of beautiful models of the barons war range by footsore, and a couple of flickthroughs of the rulebook, but can’t seem to find much on how the game is played and whether it’s actually a good game. Reviews of the rules that I’ve found have been “I’ve not played this yet but it seems okay”. Obviously covid has meant people havent been able to meet up to play for a long time but I’m just wondering if there’s any more insight to be had.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction or, even better, has played the game and can shed some light on the benefits of this system would be massively appreciated!

Cheers

Been waiting to see some gameplay videos of this game myself. According to the Facebook group Andy is working on a set of ‘how to…’ videos and will hopefully have some examples of a game or at least a few rounds being played through too.

Only played a couple of small solo games myself and I feel they play quite well and I really like the morale dice mechanic. There were a few things I thought could do with clarifying a little and I’m hoping Andy’s videos will help with that. Even at this stage though, I think after a couple of games I’d be quite comfortable playing just using the QRS they have produced rather than having to refer to the rulebook.

I’m just waiting for the Dark Age list Andy is working on to be released and then I’ll start playing a few more games and I’m looking forward to it.
