Hello friends of small figures,
today I want to show the first pictures of my chaos dwarf army. I love the old Warhammer Fantasy and at some point I got it into my head to build an army that not everywhere can be found.
Furthermore, I have to admit that the good old Chaos dwarfs from GW have a certain charm, but are not exactly what I imagined. And yes, the daughter of the top dog is a bit ... expensive.
When Lost Kingdom Miniatures started an Indigogo campaign a few years ago with their version of Chaos Dwarfs they exactly met my taste. I participated with a rather big pledge. The campaign went well, the miniatures arrived promptly and then I put them storage…
I think it took me almost four years to remove the dust and slowly start to paint the poor guys. By sharing my progress in painting I hope to keep my motivation up to finish the army. It is not about the perfect and tournament-optimized army, but a nice themed army with as many selections of Chaos dwarves as available.
Please send me your thoughts, suggestions and constructive criticism. So here are my first painted of these dwarfs.

I really like the colour scheme you have user for these. I look forward to seeing more.
-
now those are Chaos dwarfs - brilliant.
-
@Elk101 Thanks a lot, I also like it a lot. It was an attempt to try something new. Something with more color
@Bloggard also thanks a lot.
-
They waited a bit but the wait was worth it.
What do you have in mind for the bases?

Thanks a lot,
For the base?
Nothing special, just a crackling paint, light brown, some dry grass, and now and then a skull

Very nice.

Very nice.
Thanks a lot
And to make it short, the base of my chaos dwarfs ^^
-
They look awesome!

They look awesome!
Thanks a lot.
And finally here is the finished unit, with a specially made regiment floor. I hope you like it as much as I do
-
I like those a lot. I’ll echo Elk101 - the blue and bronze palette you chose looks really good. I like the change from the usual red and black schemes that are often used on chaos dwarves. The shields look especially good!
-
Yes, that turquoise and gold combination is really great, and refreshing to see.
-
Lovely work and a fantastic colour scheme. Excellent!
-
Thanks for your kind words.
I am also very enthusiastic about the color scheme, it was only a try but it turned out really good.
Every now and then, you should jump over your shadow and try something new
-
wow, what a superb colour scheme and perfectly executed too!

Actually, I don't paint much at the moment, but it continues despite everything.
Here is a seesaw and then the finished magician / blacksmith of the Chaos dwarves

Great look!

Great look!
thank you
Since I am currently fighting properly with some of the dwarves and the desire is a little lacking, I put the boys in between. they are still WIP
-
So now it’s done, the Earthshaker cannon is ready.
I hope you like it.
I put them on a large base so that the figures fit on it and they don’t stand too tightly
A special thank you goes to Thomas who made this miniature available to me
-
Nice work. Love the hats!
-
Lovely army. Don’t Lost Kingdom do 3D prints of these? What rules will you use?
-
Hello,
And thank you for your kind comments.
Yes you are right the dwarves are from Lost Kingdom Miniatures. Nowadays you can get them as files to print them yourself. I took part in the Indigogo campaign and got the whole package in resin cast. After 4 years they deserve some colour.
For now I will play them according to the rules of Warhammer Fantasy 8 Edition (Tamurkhan from Forgeworld) and Warhammer armys projects 9th Edition
-
Hello, after what feels like an eternity I finally got back to work on my chaos dwarfs.
I can proudly present my army standard bearers
-
Lovely figures (although more big hats would have been my preference!), and a very successful colour scheme. I think mention should also be made of your wonderfully evocative bases too - well done! I hope we see more as your project progresses. :)
-
Hello Major Gilbear,
thank you for your comment. I can well imagine that the good old GW Chaos Dwarfs, the big hut, are of great interest.
I can promise there will be more to come from time to time.
At the moment I have to see what will follow.
-
Another model that my friend gave me. It's great fun for me to leave the new Chaos Dwarfs behind and paint the old metal figures.
Thank you Thomas for your generous gift. I hope you like what it turned out to be.
-
A bit of a repeat of my earlier comment, but I really like your choice of choice of palette for this army. The blue and brass work well together and I like how the red and yellow in the hero’s banners looks. Just great work all around!
-
Beautiful work. I confess as much as I liked the 'Russian' vibe I never liked the enormous hats, but you've brought them up really nicely.
-
Very nice army
I love your paint scheme and your bases.
Also I have 3 Chaos dwarf with blundebuss and a hobgoblin standard bearer if you're interested

Search for others in what I'm selling ( I can lower my offers)

Thank you very much,
I am very pleased that you like my colour choice. I was worried that it would be too unusual.

Many thanks also to you

Thank you for the compliment
Also thanks for your offer, but unfortunately I can't afford any more of the old chaos dwarfs at the moment, as much as I would like to.

Again, a while has passed and I'm only making slow progress, but today I can finally show you my rocket launcher.
Again, I chose a bigger base on purpose, so that the figures are better protected and you don't get such a grim impression of the model.
-
Honestly, these are so nice, the wait is worthwhile! Well done. 8)
-
Thank you, and great that you waited^^
-
Servus,
it's been too long since I showed something here. There are enough reasons and excuses but all that counts are actions.
So dear friends, I present you my bull centaurs.
hooked on the powerfrog I had to enlarge my 4th edition dwarves and got myself these fancy models.
Feel free to write me what you think of them.
-
Stunning, as always! :-*
I always felt GW made a mistake in not formally carrying the faction forwards in Warhammer - the quick list in Ravening Hordes for 6th was the last time they had rules for those old models. The Forgeworld redesign for 8th was okay, but I honestly preferred the styling of the old 4th stuff. :)
Edit: are the shields originals, or reproductions (they look like they might be 3D printed)? If they are repros, may I ask where you got them from please?
-
Big CD fan here, too, but I collect them in 15mm.
Very nice army and I love your painting. Personally I wasn’t that bold and stayed with the classic colors, but the light blue fits them quite well. Love the addition - especially as it features my beloved big hats!
-
They look great.
-
Echoing the above, nice models, and grand show with the chosen colours. I hope you have more in store to show when they're done :D
-
Hello and good morning,
Thank you very much for your positive feedback. I am very happy about all this.
And yes, there are still a few things on the painting table at the moment. At the moment there is a wizard on Lammasu and a unit of CD warriors. The pictures will follow soon but I have a little preview.
Then I'm trying to get Hobgoblins, but the prices are crazy.
Edit: are the shields originals, or reproductions (they look like they might be 3D printed)? If they are repros, may I ask where you got them from please?
Yes the signs were unfortunately not included and so I had to resort to these here

So nice to these miniatures, especially as they are so well painted.
-
Fantastic work 8)

Then I'm trying to get Hobgoblins, but the prices are crazy.
...That's putting it mildly. I've been trying to get a few to make 5-model wolf riders, and/or 10-12 infantry models, hoping to make a sampling of token Hobgoblin units for years. Every time I convince myself to pay more, the models I'm looking at sell for a new record price! I've basically given up on them now, unless I somehow stumble into some through sheer luck. :?
If you are willing to consider some non-GW models that might be suitable for some archers and a couple of characters, Heresy Miniatures do some great figures here (https://heresyminiatures.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_73). Of course, I have been asking Andy on every occasion I see him when he might be making some more to expand the range, but he's perpetually distracted by something else...

One model that is already finished and I don't want to withhold is my wizard on Lammasu.
With this model, too, I have to thank my friend Thomas, who gave me the figure with the only condition that I have to paint it.
So dear Thomas, you've already seen them, but I hope you enjoy the pictures here too.
-
They look great, I like this unusual blue scheme.
-
Lovely figure, and I think the purplish-blue colour really makes the Lammasu look magical as well as dangerous. I hope that at some point you post up a photo of the whole painted force so far lol. :)
-
thank you.
Someday the pictures of the whole troop will come, I promise. I'm just a very slow painter and have other Chaos Dwarfs (Forgeworld and Lost Kingdom Miniatures) at the table that want to be painted from time to time.
But I still have the warriors and some Blunderbuss shooters, so there is still supply
-
Hello all,
I want to show you a small diorama that I created. The whole thing was an entry in a small painting contest under the title "Musicians of Chaos Gnomes".
Since there is a little love for the good old Chaos Dwarfs, I did not want to withhold it from you.
-
Superb 8)
-
Many thanks
-
So good! That blue colour scheme works brilliantly.
-
Superb brushwork!
Where are the dancing girl minis from?
-
Servus together,
it's been a long time...
the system says more than 120 days.....
But here I am again and want to show you my latest work.
Feel free to leave me a comment.
-
Superb brushwork!

Thanks a lot
the dancers are from Brother Vinni

My comment is “Wowzers” and “isn’t that going for Ł100 on eBay”.
-
Love it 8)
-
thank you
yes the models of the chaos dwarves from the 4 edition are generally quite expensive.
-
Love it 8)
many,many thanks

Great to see you posting more chaos dwarves. Excellent work again.
