During the extended covid break several members of Wigan Wargames Club have been busy painting Napoleonics. The wide range of excellent plastic minis now on offer makes it very accessible period.
We'd used Rebels and Patriots for AWI pre covid and enjoyed the game so felt the rules would easily work with Napoleonics. Three weeks and four games post the club opening up and we've had some really enjoyable games using the Rebels and Patriots with the nicely painted Napoleonics.

Just as a bit of back story the Comte Del Monte is a leader character created by one of the club members who seems to have the knack of staying well away from trouble throughout games only to emerge at the games end to claim any credit going.
Here are some pix to show the latest game in action and some of the very nice mins.

So many double 1s.... sounds just like one of our games lol. I agree Rebels and Patriots is a good uncomplicated set that gives fun games. We mostly use it for ACW but plan to use it for War of 1812 and 1745 Jacobites too.

Thanks for posting.
We (Vodkafan & I) do like Reb&Pats.
They give a nice game.

Well done, lad! Your minis and terrain look the part.

Looking great! I love the uniform choices on those units. Sounds like you folks had a good time.

Nice idea, we do the same since the rules came out. Easy to adapt and fun.

I've also heard of Jacobites played out with Pikemans Lament which may work better as I've heard R&P can be a bit shooty.
If you post some Jacobite BatReps if you play some games out with R&P, be an interesting read to gauge the differences.

Excellent stuff!! ;)

Will do, as long as you don't mind waiting a bit.
We have a Government army ready, but... oh what
is the technical phrase, ah yes, bugger all Jacobites.
Well that is to say ready to take the table. Lots yet
to be painted, but that's a lot of Tartan!
What might be achievable, before too long, is a small
Jacobite force (Rear-guard or ambushers) attacking
part of the Government army.

We have done that already. The Pikeman's Lament rules worked really well for the '45. There is discussion about implications of PL v R&P at the end of the campaign as it's posted on the LAF.

PL is something we hadn't even considered for 1745, we play and enjoy both rulesets, so I am sure has.been's mind is whirring like clockwork with the possibilities at this moment.
Thanks for the links pbjunky I will look at those with interest.
