Alongside, and sort of trailing behind, ProjectTROY (https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=129015.0 (https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=129015.0)), I have been working on a second 28mm project for the year - ProjectBACCHAE. As the army will be used for Fantastic Battles, all companies are based on 60x60mm bases.
To start with, we have the horny hirsute drunken core of the army, the satyrs!*

A lovely mix of stuff, the different coloured Satyrs are a nice touch too.

There needs to be those bloodthirsty bacchants as well!

I like this army a lot. There are lots of details on the bases, too, like the amphorae, that add to the effect. I’m looking forward to seeing additional units as they’re completed!

Thanks. Anyone with pets will know skin colour often changes depending on the colour of the fur on top (presumably it is actually th opposite, but you know what I mean), so I figured I could get away with multiple skin tones and make what could have been a fairly samey unit a bit more diverse.

Thanks. This army is all about the flowers and the colours! There are a few amphorae scattered across the bases, but they tend to be overwhelmed by the flowers!
More units are planned, but waiting on stuff arriving in the post. ::)

Fantastic work. I have a contingent of the Eureka satyrs and centaurs myself. If you add to their number ask Nic for the newer alternate ones. They have rams horns and a few other little alterations on them. I did them for him last year when we were locked down and I'm pretty sure he made the moulds for them a few months back.

As ever, I'm in awe.
I've actually used that same Dionysus mosaic for my own army (I think you can just barely make it out in this image: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=125506.0;attach=143326;image (https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=125506.0;attach=143326;image)), except I printed it as a decal, as I don't have anything approaching your painting acumen :D

Really lovely- I especially like the maenads, but the elephant drapes are really nice, too.
What are you going to do with the army? It would work very well with something like Hordes of the Things.

Oh, that's interesting. Is it the same poses etc, but with ram horns, or are there new sculpts as well?

I'm building the army for Fantastic Battles. You could say that the rules were written to accomodate armies like this.

Those are cracking! The mosaic works very well as a standard.

Not a great deal of progress with the distractions of work etc, but a couple of units of Shadowforge Maenads are now complete (Although I realise I have only a photo of one... two more still to go), and two units of Eureka centaurs.
