Title: My own version of Oldhammer
Post by: Sir_Theo on July 16, 2021, 11:41:00 PM
I hit 40 last year and with my middle age I am getting increasingly nostalgic for the games of my youth. I already have a thread for my 2nd edition 40k armies elsewhere on LAF but recently I've been delving back into Warhammer fantasy battle. This has entailed building several armies, painting a lot of Goblin green bases and home brewing my own version of the game distilling my favourite elements of a number of editions (mostly a base of 2nd/3rd with a lot of the chunkier elements taken out, the magic system of 4th edition and combat more akin to later editions)

I've got a lot of armies to be worked on over the next few months but recently I've been working on some Brettonians . I originally intended just to repaint my old 5th edition Brettonians but in the end I've spent quite a lot on Foundry miniatures with a few Front Rank and Crusader additions . Im at the stage where I just have one infantry unit (Peasant Levy) left to do and then its onto the Mounted Knights.  You'll notice some shields missing or not finished (they need bosses etc) but its getting there. Its been a real pleasure to paint and I'm pleased how they are coming together en masse
