Title: WW1 French
Post by: James Morris on July 22, 2021, 10:39:19 AM
Last year, I penned a short article on painting mid-late war French for Wargames Illustrated for a 'Vive La France' theme issue.  The article finally found its way into print a few weeks ago, but I just found some of the out-takes from the photo session and thought I'd post them up.

There's a few more words and pics on my blog here: https://mogsymakes.net/2021/07/22/les-poilus/ (https://mogsymakes.net/2021/07/22/les-poilus/)

Wargames Illustrated 403 is here: https://www.wargamesillustrated.net/product/wi403-july-2021/ (https://www.wargamesillustrated.net/product/wi403-july-2021/)

All this has got me itching to get back to WW1 sometime...maybe in 2022...

You know it's been bugging me for 5 years, what did Caporal Meilleur have for breakfast?

I’ve looked it up for you.  He was issued with a can of ‘singe’ and the end of a stale baguette, but was unable to manage more than a few bites of each due to the heat and the fact that he’d run out of water by then. :)
