Title: Looking for 28mm Dog sized wolves
Post by: Kikuchiyo on July 30, 2021, 06:29:16 PM
I've been after some wolves for a while - looking for some that scales around the size of a warhound/large dog

The fantasty stuff is just too big

Idealy I'd like them to fit on a 25mm base and look like they need a good meal :D

looking for 4 and would prefer different poses but thats not a deal breaker

Any ideas would be appreciated

Reaper makes a nice set of 3 realistic sized wolves:

TAG have got some coming in the next month or so in their Livestock range. Assuming they scale with the rest, and they shouldn't as it's the same sculptor, they won't be oversized.

North Star and Warbases, North Star’s are slightly nicer.

I can recommend the ones from DeeZee, retailed by Arcane Scenery and Models in the UK.
Pack of six.
Although they’re listed as ‘Dire Wolves’, they’re actually large dog sized, not fantasy giant warg size.

+1 for the Northstar (Frostgrave I think) ones.  They are metal models, not the Oathmark plastic big doggies.  They paint up well and are decent looking “normal” wolves.

Ral Partha Legacy — Feral Wolves, fantasy from the days of actual 25s.

Turnkey Miniatures (old Mega Miniatures line) have the smallest, doggie-dog sized.

I have some other good ones on hand, but can't remember where I got what from.  I tend to pick up wolves from any manufacturer I happen to be ordering from just to get a great variety of poses and sizes.

I've taken a long look

the Northstar ones look great but not quite starving wolf enough for what I'm after

shame the dead mands hand offering is no more as they look just the ticket

As mentioned above, the Ral Parthia Legacy Feral Wolves are what you want.

Copplestone's giant wolves for 15mm or 10mm are around the right size for ordinary 28mm wolves:
