I got some boxes of plants: palms, banana trees, cactus (cactii?) small and large.
Here the pics of the different kits.

Very useful thanks, I've always been curious what they looked like.
Of course, had you put a 28mm figure in each of the boxes next to the plants, then those pics would have been perfect :D
-
Useful indeed. I too would like to see them with a 28mm figures for scale…
Maybe once you have some of these assembled ;)
-
Doh! ::)
Well, if you look on the box covers there is indicated the height of the plants. ;)

I got the Pegasus Cactus #1 set and the Imex Southwestern Alamo Accessories set for making my desert terrain. The largest Pegasus cacti are taller than my 28mm miniatures. When a ruler is held up next to them it looks to be about 45mm high. The smallest ones are about 20mm tall. The varying size make them look good.
The IMEX stuff is smaller than Pegasus, being 1/72 (?) scale, but, like I said, cacti vary in size just like any other plant. Slap on some goblin green, highlight with sunbrust yellow, wash with orc flesh and they look good.
I've yet to get the palm trees, but want them to change my American Southwestern Atomic Blasted Desert into something more of a Middleast Atomic Blasted Desert look when my gaming calls for it.

When doing the IMEX ones I added the little cacti and those small grasses on to the base with a larger cactus. The other accessories, the well, barrels, etc..., are too small in scale for my tastes.
Another option. Scroll about half way down the page...

Marco, you're going to need some rocks for that desert...

Warren,
thank you for the link.
Baueda is an Italian company, and I saw their table at a couple of conventions.
Good stuff.
BTW, did you had any problem painting that kind of soft plastic?

As it happens, I'm constructing a (rather sizeable lol) jungle for the moment, using Pegasus trees in both 1/72 (5/box) and the larger variety (3/box). The small rings the leafs are attached to fit real well over the plastic pin on top of the trunk, but this is a weak point and likely to break when handled (or dropped by accident, I already had the experience :'(). Therefore, I strengthen the point where the pin meets the trunk with a layer of putty.
As soon as the jungle is ready, I'll post some pics, but since it involves basing 500+ trees and plants, it won't be tomorrow. However, I have pledged to finish it before painting or constructing anything else (just to make sure I won't get stuck halfway... lol)

Rudi,
MORE than 500 plants and trees?? o_o :o
You really have what here in Italy is called "a green thumb", that is the gifted skill to grown plants!
Anyway, you're right! If it has to be a jungle, let it be a jungle! ;)
Well, sooner or later I'll start to build my own jungle...
Marco (without any green thumb)

I only had one brief problem. I forgot to wash the pieces before priming... it wouldn't stick to the cacti. :-[
I quick washing with soapy water fixed that. ;)
The little sticker spines take drybrushing really well.
500+ trees and plants - Now THAT'S a jungle!
Might this help?

Warren,
the link is very interesting, and temting :-*, but they have a minimum order of $50.00.
And I'm quite afraid of P&P cost.

Hi, it happens that I have one of this palm trees just finished. It is 22 cm height. It looks big enough for any 28mm figure. Sorry, but at this moment I haven't camera.
-
Manggoland,
thank you for the info!
But it sounds as you get the bigger version of the palms; 3 in a box instead of 5.
These, as stated on the cover, are approx. 5" high.
So... your palm is longer then mine! lol lol

Nice (and some more variety...), but I've had the plastic plants and Pegasus trees on the shelf for years, but there was something else that finally triggered it. More about this later...
