Title: How long after Polyshade dip before applying matte finish?
Post by: Ozreth on August 03, 2021, 10:27:19 PM
Newer to the hobby and painting up some figures. I opted for polyshade minwax for a dip. I'm applying the army painter anti shine matte finish next but am unsure how long I should wait.

The Army Painter site says to wait 48 hours after applying quick shade before applying matte. Should I do the same for the minwax even though the can says it dries in 6-8 hours?

Thanks in advance!

It's probably a good idea there to wait it out. A lot of the minwax stuff dries to the touch relatively quickly, but you have the rest of it curing inside it and outgassing for a longer period.

Got it, makes sense! Thank you.

I would give it a day or too to fully cure.
