I'm attempting some kitbashing centered around the A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series, and I'm looking to build a mounted version of Tywin Lannister. If you're unfamiliar, I added a little excerpt from the books:
"The great cloak was held in place by a matched pair of miniature lionesses crouching on his shoulders, as if poised to spring. Their mate, a male with a magnificent mane, reclined atop Lord Tywin’s great helm, one paw raking the air as he roared. All three lions were wrought in gold, with ruby eyes."
I'm specifically looking for something similar helmet described, and I think I'm going to plant it on a knight from the 28mm historical Perry miniatures line. I attached some images I think are relevant. Would a Bretonnian helm be too big?
Also on the off chance you know any other lion themed armor, please let me know haha

Brett helmet on Perry would be to big .

Agree, old Brettonia helmets would be massive. I don't really know anything that would fit, maybe look for some 3D printed options? Lots of people sell printing services these days.

Mirliton also do some helmet accessories fir their 28mm medieval range.

I've attached an image of the 25/28 mm Mirliton heads that may interest you. Sadly, I don't have any of the lion adorned heads left in my unsold stock from when I was Mirliton's UK distributor.
Full listing of remaining my stock (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQsz1JmWVG2DzEeQljTKvhma1zAs7WkvpQULZvL7WHcS8sO_9CnmlOSDaz4b_Q44RUaIZKov4xkSFDY/pubhtml?gid=81155181&single=true)
PM me for prices.

You might be able to slice the lion off of a Bretonnian helmet and attach it to the Perry head of your choice. The lion still might be a bit large, though.

So far Mirliton looks like a great resource for that type of decorated helmet that's in the right scale, I'm gonna check them out further :-)

Sadly I'm in the states, not sure what kind of shipping rate might get applied. I'm gonna have a look around for some kind of local distribution.

Yu might need to take out a second mortgage. lol
The last time I looked at getting things from Mirliton the shipping was over 100% of the cost of the figures (shipping to New Zealand).

Some of the older Warhammer fantasy kits had small 'twiddly bits' of varying types, sigmarite or dwarf icons, that kind of thing, often a lot smaller than the brettonian headwear - searching through 'empire bits' on eBay might turn up something.

Thanks, I'll give that a try, might help with the other lion iconography that is described on the armor too.
