Title: Figure options for the War of 1812
Post by: v_lazy_dragon on August 28, 2021, 07:58:55 AM
Hello folks,

I have woken up with a whim to game the war of 1812;  probably skirmish level (and definitely 28mm).
Musket and Tomahawk 2 seems the perfect starting point, and I like the Northstar figures.

Are the Northstar figures compatible with Brigade Games?
I have found a post that says they are too big to mix with Foundry/Knuckle Duster/Old Glory?
Are there any 'conventional' Napoleonic ranges that will work with Northstar?

I was disappointed that the Northstar range came out big. If you go to slightly smaller figures you will have more choice for sure. Knuckleduster of course, Old Glory do a large range, Caliver books do some. I personally don't like the Foundry 1812 range, but lots of ordinary Napoleonics will do for the bulk of the British.
I plan to do 1812 with Rebels and Patriots .

There is also the miniature rule set Red Coats and War Hawks by Battlefield Game Designs found here:

It's a great skirmish game with lots of cards, templates and 15 skirmish scenarios.

Brigade Games in the States have some beautiful War of 1812 figures as well as the Old Victrix metal Napoleonics line.
