Title: Island Hoping - the Japanese
Post by: Pictors Studio on September 04, 2021, 01:32:34 AM
Here are some Japanese I've just finished.  They are the Bolt Action 28mm figures.  Most are plastic but the command and weapons teams are metal.

They are pretty nice figures and paint up fairly quickly.

I've done two squads with command for a platoon plus higher command and support weapons for this.

Next up are the marines.  I'm doing the same thing, two squads plus the metal boxed command set.

WELL DONE. I did some of these but they don't look nearly as nice as yours.

Thank you, that is very nice of you to say.

The flags are by Warflag.  I printed them out and then painted on the print.

I didn't even try to do the flags I knew it would be beyond my skill level. I think the bases are awesome they really make the figures POP and look more realistic.

Finally got around to doing the USMC for this.

The odd piece of camo makes the marines slightly more interesting to paint than the Japanese forces but they are both nice sets of fig.  I like the medic/wounded marine and the stretcher bearer, as they are nice for adding some scenery or using as markers.  I always appreciate when companies add those types of figures to their lines.

The machine gun was kind of a bear to get together but it was the only thing that was in any way difficult.  It is nice that the gun crews are all designed to go on one big base rather than be on individual bases that get put together.  Although I guess most systems do that as even GW is doing that with their Imperial Guard guys now.

There are a ton of extra parts with the Marine sets.  I think you could probably build at least three more guys from each sprue if you had the extra bodies.  Nice to have all those options to create characterful squads.

Both sides are very well painted.
May I ask, "what rules are you planing to play?"

What are they hoping for?

Probably just a bite of food. The Japanese only received about 350 calories worth of food a day from their government and were expected to acquire the rest themselves.

These figures will be used with Bolt Action

Hmmm, the cannibalism stories are chilling.
