Title: Terrain for Inverlochy 1645

Just posted an update to my Inverlochy 1645 blog here https://battleofinverlochy.blogspot.com/2018/11/the-field-of-battle.html.  This post covers how I went about recreating the battlefield. Very good to see and very handy too.  I must copy your map.

I spent an hour or so last night on Iain Lom's use of the phrase "trom éile" in his Mac Colla song.  I think I might have got it.

Thanks, OB!  Glad it is useful.  I have OOBs on the blog as well.

I’ve struggled a bit online to find full translations of The Day of Inverlochy or Alasdair.  I only reliably have the snippets that Ronald Williams put in The Heather and the Gale.

I have a vignette of Iain Lom, standing under a small sapling, contemplating the battle.  :)

That's great, I'd like to work my way through them all.  I've still got a bit of painting to do.

I'll put something on The Day of Inverlochy up on my blog when I think I've got it all down.  Incredible to think that Iain Lom was at Killiekrankie too.  Your vignette would work for that one too!

I'm really impressed with how the hills seem to sit on the terrain so nicely and make it look so natural

I have toyed with the idea of doing Killiekrankie, reusing most of my highlanders.  Still on the long term list  :) .

The long ridge is sculpted as part of the terrain modules, hence the smooth transition  ;)
