At the weekend, Paul Scrivens-Smith and I got together to throw dice, push toy soldiers and shout 'For Alfonso, God and Spain!' in the style of Charlton Heston. Ok, probably not the last bit. Scrivs has painted a huge number of medieval Spanish and Moors - so many that I only needed to bring two figures for the game (and that was a luxury, really).
We're planning a game for Partizan on Oct 10th around double the size of this one.
Here's some highlights, with a full picture report on the blog here: https://mogsymakes.net/2021/09/13/wounded-by-pedro-stood-on-by-a-horse-el-cid-rides-again/ (https://mogsymakes.net/2021/09/13/wounded-by-pedro-stood-on-by-a-horse-el-cid-rides-again/)

El Cid's charge out of the gates at at Valencia.
It takes me back to Claymore when I first saw one of your games being run James! If I recall Chris and Tim were doing the honours with the dice rolling?
I fell in love with wargaming 11th Ce Spain immediately 8)

I've had a chance to play with Paul and his Reconquista collection, it is excellent. He's such a top notch painter plus he churns out so many figures at a speed I could only dream matching.
Great AAR!
