That looks like an excellent game ChrisBBB, something I wish my club was in to rather than mainstream competitiveness lol. As someone who was lucky enough to live for a number of years in the house Conan Doyle visited and based the Hound of the Baskerville on (Baskerville hall is another manse about 10-15 miles away) I fully approve of this idea. Accordingly he moved the action to the moors though as he thought it’s current location wasn’t gloomy or forbidding enough. Keep up the good work,

Yes, that looks right. I know it was a kit rather than scratchbuilt.

Competition games just seem sterile to me and I regard them as a different hobby from mine. However, the competition gamers do fill half the village hall and without them we wouldn't have a club, so good luck to them!

You’re quite right Chris the other types of players mean my club can afford to exist, which I am very grateful for. I am (‘was’ before the pandemic) slowly corrupting them though with other games (most of which they’d never heard of) and really miss it.
I look forward to seeing a replay and seeing if Holmes can do better next time (was Holmes rated high enough in hth? He was supposed to be competent in a number of martial arts and good with a singlestick so he should be stiff competition for the untrained or average malcontent).

Oh yes, he had the highest basic combat value on the pitch, and an additional +1 in hth for his Jujitsu skill. Although his situation looked bleak at game end, we hadn't actually put a scratch on him - he (and we) had just run out of time.

Trapped in a burning wickerman trying to save an innocent would be a classic potential end for Holmes whether a true final act of bravery or ……… Watson comes round in a hospital, having been carried to safety by the fleeing bobbies, as his bleary eyes adjust to the light he sees a indescribably familiar looking figure in a doctors coat put down his chart, smile and walk out the room. The game’s not over yet…..
After all he only came back from the falls due to public demand and that game needs to be played many times! And the potential for follow ups, returns to the scene or pre-incident flashbacks is great. Thank you for sharing it.
