Is there anything like an unbiased history of the Indo-Pakistani wars? Just been reading about the mess in East Pakistan that led to the third war and the independence of Bangladesh. Second war saw some of the biggest tank battles since WWII.

Helion and Company have a two volume history of the 1971 war in their catalogue. Vol 1 is available and vol 2 is set for release "this Autumn". Paul Meekins Books sell them at a substantial discount.

There are a lot of books written on the Indian side. Some of the best of them include contributions from the Pakistani side. Mostly they are written by professionals for professionals. I picked a number from the various bookshops in Khan Market in Delhi when I was there. I was fortunate to have been there during the 50th celebrations when there was a major exhibition on the Rajpath, now the site where it was held is sadly disappearing beneath new government buildings.
Some of the trophies and example tanks can be seen in Amritsar cantonments area and in Chandigarh - the home of the Armoured brigades. The book India's Wars is likely a good place to start. If I can find my copy out will post ISBN details. Who knows it might be possible to get it through a library
