I recently bought a resin 3D printer and I've learned a lot in getting it set up and printing figures, so I wanted to share what I learned in a 3D printing guide for wargamers:

Here's some of my recent prints:

Thanks, I'm about to buy an Elegoo as well, nice to see your research and all the helpful information!
Cheers,

Glad it's helpful!

Very interesting article.
Cheers.

Thanks Flatpack!

Many thanks for posting this! It's a wonderful resource for fellow beginners you put together there; no doubt it will be tremendously helpful once I get my own 3D printer soon 8)
-
I hope it will be!

That is an extremely useful guide you've produced, many thanks. I will be referring back to that when I get my printer. If one was to go for a Saturn as opposed to a Mars, what would be the benefits of the more expensive printer?
-
Thanks! The Saturn has a bigger build plate, so you can print larger figures and vehicles/terrain without having to break them up into smaller parts, and the Saturn also has a higher resolution than the Mars 2 (though about the same as the newer Mars 3: 4k resolution). That said, I'm able to print 28mm vehicles just fine on the Mars 2 with the right orientation.

Thank you for this thread! I've been thinking about getting a printer and this answered a lot of questions.

Glad it was helpful!

Thanks for putting all these resources together.
I'm currently messing around with my mars 2 pro and seeing what it can do.
your blog has some fantastic stuff which is just good to read and re-read once in a while.
-
Wow! Thank you for putting this together! They really look great!

Late comment, but reposted on the Reaper 3D printing forum!
I thought the Crealty series was the one to buy, so I'm entirely guessing you didn't buy it because of customer service issues?
Hope there's an update every six months or year, since the technology and prices are changing!
