Title: Vintage SciFi Alien ID request / challenge!

This is the little monster I struggle to identify!

It looks like something from an Alien movie. I've been searching using keywords like xenomorphs, aliens, but no joy.

The head is quite distinctive!

I'm assuming he's very much on the 'vintage' end of the hobby spectrum.

Thanks to the assistance of a LAF resident hobby-products spacelords expert, I've identified the majority of his tin-travelling companions as belonging to that range, but this one - it seems not.

Glued to a coin. Beneath the green stuff it looks like a pear-shaped metal base. If only one could date a figure by the 2p New Pence coin (71-81) its glued to! Reluctant to destroy the basing if I can avoid it - but one never knows - always that chance in a million you'll get lucky and reveal a 1983 New Pence misprint  ;D

Does anybody recognise this abomination of a miniature?  :D

That one is a “standard warrior” from the Asgard Miniatures sci-fi line produced in the 1980s. Yours is probably an original, but they are now back in production by Alternative Armies. https://www.alternative-armies.com/collections/asgard-25mm-science-fiction/products/lsd1-standard-warrior (https://www.alternative-armies.com/collections/asgard-25mm-science-fiction/products/lsd1-standard-warrior)

lol

Bravo!

I knew - if someone had seen it, they'd know it - its such a weird figure.

Thank you Pattus Magnus. It was an itch I was failing to scratch, I am very grateful for your assistance.

Beat me to it.  I used the AA castings of them for a couple of Rogue Stars crews a few years back, just to test how versatile the system was at build-your-own-weirdos:

At the time AA hadn't found the molds for the wing pieces on the larger models and were only selling them without.  I see they've since remedied that, as well as adding the bio-cannon that the drone operator was intended to be crew for.  Perhaps I should revisit that range, maybe as Stargrave Bugs or something.
