Title: Capitan Miniatures Brunswickers
Post by: Skrapwelder on November 09, 2021, 06:02:12 PM
Does anyone know if these are available somewhere? Capitan site looks gone and I can't find any references online later than last year.

I presume you mean the 28mm Brunwick Oels jager rifles figures. They are lovely sculpts.

The figures are available from Stonewall Figures.

I'm not clear on the relationship between Capitan and Stonewall or whether one was producing the figures under licence from the other.

That is a very deep and confusing can of worms to start opening up.  All sorts of allegations of piracy, breach of copyright and considerable doubt over the license for the figures.
A quick websearch on Stonewall, Capitan and Xan/Steel72 will bring up dozens of forum posts going back a few years. IIRC it ended up going to court over some of the ranges, maybe some were legit and others pirated?

Thank you for the information gentlemen. I was aware of some of the discussion regarding Xan, Capitan, Fantassin and Stonewall. I was hoping to find a reliable, legitimate supplier. Even though these particular minis don't seem to fall into the proceedings all the things I've read have me looking elsewhere.
