Yes, I have to write about it. You will find also some statistical research about the battle.
English text at the end of the german text.

Terrific article Koppi!

I've seen the allure of doing the great battles of history resonate in our hobby for decades (it's almost become an obsession for some).

Our group has wrestled with this desire for visual fidelity, while hoping to attain battlefield context and historical relevance on the tabletop too - we have concluded that doing battlefield snippets gives us the best possibility of blending these two goals, within a reasonable time for completion.

With the hobbyist painter in mind, maybe the preparation process is much of the goal, but with the wargamer, the realized end product on the tabletop should be achieved (and with the later objective - that's where the compromise often resides).

The "Waterloo Campaign", or "Epic Battles" - are just Warlord's sales pitch.   If interested in this scale and its new offerings, someone should buy what is practical.  After all, this hobby (for most) shouldn't devolve into a working career, but might be something we gain reward and satisfaction from, through 'reasonably' attaining our goals

I’m sure ‘epic’ will mean different things to different people. For me, I am gaming at home on a dining table - so for me, I would be happy to use 2 blocks per unit when in line and 3 when in column (the latter for visual appeal) and to do some smaller scenarios taken from the battle.

Perhaps with a bit of bath-tubbing, I might get most of Quatre Bras onto my table.

It doesn’t have to be the whole of Waterloo for me or a multi-player game, but of course, I am just one section of the entire audience that will find appeal with this release.
