The first mini's I've managed to paint since August 8th!
I'm a little out of practice but I think they have come out quite well.
Many more pictures and the usual blurb on my Just Add Water Blog here:

Looking good mate.

Looking very good! Great work!
-
They look great - a nice little set.
-
Thanks guys. They were fun to paint up- I managed to get a nice conversion job done in exchange by a very good sculptor so it was a win win :)
-
Very nice
-
They look outstanding. They'll make a nice addition to any game.

Cheers mate.

I can't be sure of this think they're going to a more of a collector than a gamer- as i say, I could be (very) wrong.
The paintjobs are barter for a well known sculptor doing some conversion work for me. 8)

They look excellent Atheling, and will grace any medieval/dark age village you bung them in.
We used a selection of peasants as both scenery and participants in our last game. When the church bells signaled the arrival of raiders the villagers rallying point was in the churchyard with the Bishop. Once there they could defend the church under the warrior priest's leadership.
Kind of worked well, with the scuttling peasantry getting in the way of their own soldiers rushing to tackle the baddies. Some of the baddies got diverted chasing the female peasants about, till an assault on the church's treasure chest resulted in a swift massacre.
It was a fun way of making the scenery part of the game!
:)

I love using bystanders in Saga/Ronin/FFoL. They work great as objectives, speed bumps, or general mayhem adders.
Not for every game, but they add a good curve depending on the scenario (I've got them for Dark Age and Samurai, need to add some Roman and Greek ones at some point).

I have always been one for vignettes but as these were painted up for someone else as a trade I couldn't really stray from using the bases he had provided.
There would be all sorts of fin vignettes one could do; from "I'm skint it't I guvner" to "Did you hear" to "You under arrest for [insert embarrassing moment]" :D

They've turned out great! Excellent work! Really well done on the cloth especially, always good to see bright, bold colours!

Thanks :)

The colours are based on a photograph set of natural dyes a re-enactor mate sent me several years ago. As the range was designed for the Poitiers period of the HYW I wouldn't resist popping in the Black Prince's livery on one of the miniatures too ;) :)

Nice work! Those old Foundry packs still hold up well today.

Cheers Iain. :)
I'd be lying if I said they were very easy to paint up- possibly maybe taking time out since early August or maybe the small size of the miniatures compared to what I have been painting up of late ???
