Very nice indeed. Out of interest, why did you mix figures by two different manufacturers? Was it just to get more variety of poses?

Cheers Paul! 👍 Mixing manufacturers for me is normally to get a mixture of sculpts for variety. (My ideal would be to have every figure in the unit different, where I can mange it.) With this project I ordered a lot of the Foundry stuff purely from a nostalgia pov, before I’d worked out what I needed, as I’d admired the figures since they first came out. These were made back in the day when mono-pose was the standard, but I do like a Perry sculpt! :D

Thanks, Andy. I thought so. I do the same thing. And I love Perry sculpts too. I think that some of their Elizabethan figures (ex- Citadel Wars of Religion) are especially marvellous. I just wish they were a bit bigger.

I remember those figures! I seem to remember that they did have variety within a one basic pose, and that was one of the really exciting things about them. French Wars of Religion, and the similar period in the British Isles, is another pike and shot period that interests me, as much for the costume styles as for the history.
If I have been really troubled by the shortness of a figure I have tried adding a shim underneath the base that then gets hidden in the basing/flocking process. Can help a bit.
