That is just brilliant, possibly one of my favourite pieces. Someone is in for a real treat with that on their gaming table, I'm very envious.
-
That is a beauty 8)

Very nice James! The street level shots are very realistic to my eye. Now when are you going to turn back to China? I have needs man!
-
Thanks chaps :)

These are gorgeous.
I don't know much about period architecture- what elements, if any, make them characteristic of a mountain village?
-
Looks amazing! Great work.
-
Thanks :)

High pitched roofs made from thatch mainly.
-
That is so beautiful that any museum in the far east would envy you. Excellent terrain building!
-
What a thing of beauty! :-*

They're for me aren't they?

James, those look amazing! Can't wait to paint mine up. They need something else to make them complete, but I just can't put my finger on what that it? :? lol

Hurrah! :D

Jay, are you planning a Japan supplement? Or just some games of Might and Melee set in Japan?
-
These look excellent, I like the colour you've got on the thatch, I usually go for a greyish old look but the pictures I've seen recently of Japanese thatching seems to indicate it's much more of a brown colour than grey.
Maybe it's newer thatch but I wonder if it's because they use different thatching materials, any thoughts?
-
Jolly Nice
-
Excellent builds as always 👍
-
Beautiful buildings! Wow.

When my modeling efforts 'grow up' I want people to mistake my work for an OSHIRO commission! :o ;D :D
-
It's nice to dream! If I could build stuff like this I'd need a lot more storage.
-
Amazing detail, just brilliant :-*

I might be doing something for it...

Rice stalks are a well used material for Japanese thatch and they have a warmer colour when they first get put on but they do tend to go grey over time.
Here is a set of raised paddy fields to go with the mountain village (same commission).
