One of the periods we love to play was always the 80 years War as it is an important part of our Dutch history.
So when TAG came out with its new figures (sadly only infantry up to now) Peter, half of the Alde Garde, started collecting and painting. We use Pikemans Lament for now.
Some pictures underneath: The first two pictures are dutch troops, the 3rd and 4th Landsknechts in pluderhosen, the 5th English (TAG tudors), 6th and 7th Spanish and the last one artillery.

very nice looking.

Yes, very nice, but I’m a bit puzzled by the choice of circular bases for multi-based figures
-
Steve, that is according to the used rules "Pikeman's Lament"
-
Lovely figures.
Are you using any particular mods for PL or just as they are written? I am working on some skirmishes from the same period on the opposite side of the North Sea and we had a first game earlier this week, but I'd be keen to hear what your approach is.

A great looking force 👍

Emir, as we have just ready our used armies, we have had only a few games and used the rules as is. Maybe after playing more, we will made some adaptions or houserules.
-
We played it straight too and it worked perfectly.
Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks,

Before the Assault Group (TAG) started sculpting their beautiful Long War range for the early 80 Years War period just some years ago, I had started already many years before to collect suitable figures from other branches for this period.
When painted, many of them fit well, although TAG will stay my favourite.
I keep buying their latest issues and will show them on this blog when painted.
Here already several pictures of cavalry from different branches for the first decades of the 80 Years War and 1 artillery pic.
Some pictures are include; on our blog ( aldegarde.blogspot.com ) are some more
the pictures show:
- old glory artillery of the french war of religion
- old glory generic gendarmes painted as spanish
- TAG Spanish mounted arquebusiers
- Warlord generic demi-lancers as Spanish
-
:-* :-* I like it!!!!!
Very nice!

More really nice additions to your forces. I particularly like the fancy cassocks of the mounted Arquebusiers.

The new figures look splendid. :)
