Another rabbit hole...
-
Now three....
-
Are you doing the basic French ones, as well as the German conversions?
-
Nice work, very nice indeed.

Yep, next
-
Love the German conversions. Lovely work Rich.
-
Very nice indeed. If you go down the rabbit hole that is 21 Panzer Div in 1944 you will be there for a very long time.
-
Those look excellent. Could do with a couple of those for my Syria / Lebanon Vichy collection (although they were probably never there lol)
-
I think these odd little vehicles are the last things I really need for my 21st PD (bar buying more of everything!)
BALM

There were at least four in Lebanon (Syria) during the campaign.
-
Fuel trailer done and 38L and trailer nearly done. Just a few fiddly bits left but it's bedtime!
Going to make the 37 short (two bogies) as a tow (and I think it will be easy...) then see what's next.
-
This is lovely. Will look forward to seeing your other variants.
I've Mad Bobs Lorraine which I used for the DAK in Tunisia as an artillery mover.
-

Interesting. Thanks Helen. Now I have justification! >:D
-
A tiny Lorraine 37 before it was stretched to the 37L (Longe)
-
Big Gun + small carrier
-
Is there specialist software for military vehicles?
-
Not sure what you mean? This is Fusion 360 CAD, it's a (mostly) parametric so it's good for hard surfaces.
Panzer 1 turreted Lorraine

I just wondered if you use a standard CAD package or if someone had designed an addon that allows you to 'build' vehicles from preset forms?
I like the detail on the Pz1 turret - those guns look particularly good, not oversized.
-
They are warlord plastic MG34s... :o
I dropped the turret and snapped mine off... lol
Though mine are similar in scale.
These are drafted from a blank sheet with the help of drawings, photos and/or guesswork with the exception of a few common bits like spades and tools which I have a library of I have draw in the past.
-
Personally I think you are a genius! Your detailing is fantastic and these look brilliant.
-
Thanks!
I keep looking at it and it looks messy but it's just lots of rivets!
It did come out very well. Some tweaks needed to make the detail stand out like the vision slots are too narrow

lol lol lol
Great skills on the design front - it looks great!
-
Good looking prints! I know what you mean about going down the rabbit hole...did that with the Pz 1 series R35/40s, and the BT series.
-
Pics or it didn't happen ;D
-
15cm gun is huge!
-
These are fantastic 8) 8) 8)
-
That gun is an absolute whopper!
Its an impressive model.
-
Thanks all :D
Family photo so far.
I keep finding variants. I'm up to 16 so far of which I've completed 7. A couple are prototypes only so probably not worth it but one of them has a 17pdr...
-
looking good.
The 17pdr variant sounds mad, so should be made!
-
Sadly I've only found 2 pics. I'll post them later if I remember
-
Is the HG gun going to get a run?
-
Pics or it didn't happen ;D
Give me a day to roll out the armor and take a pic or two...
-
HG?

Home Guard Smith Gun?

Stand by...

:P :P :P

24 possible variants now... :o
Really can't cope with doing all of them... But it is tempting! lol
A few have very dubious provenance: 20mm flak, command version and the one below "mit stuka zu Fuss" and possibly never existed. Others are just plain ridiculous like the 17pdr version but they did at least build one of them!
-
Looks cool
Seems to be the normal German approach of take a hull and take a gun and join them together. The only thing that seems to have varied is scale, was it a lash-up at a unit workshop or was it a proper factory conversion.
But it does seem you can pretty much take any pair and mate them up!
-
Free French built with MG151 autocannon. Allegedly saw action in the liberation of France and all were lost.
-
The family so far
The free French version just failed for some reason so I'll have to try again.
-
Beautiful collection. :-*
-
Looking great with some paint on!
-
Thanks! :D

That’s a great set of schleppers! 8)
-
Superb. 8) 8) 8)
You now need to come up with a term to express what a group of Schleppers all together are called!
-
lol
I'm now hoping the Alkett 10.5 is an easy conversion as I think it's just the casemate that's different
Once that's done then the 122mm is the Alkett with a new gun.
17pdr is on the back burner as it's harder than I though due to lack of info.
Free French MG version will be a pain of rivets...
Marders will probably follow as it a completely new casemate and guns
Civvi versions bringing up the rear.
-
Nice one Rich - please check your PMs
-
Will do
10.5 Becker and Free French 'Tank' with 20mm
-
Alkett and Becker versions of the 10.5cm
