Hoping someone may be able to give me some advice. Looking to Wargame the battles in the Congo in the 1960’s. Going to use the old Britannia miniatures line for the mercenaries and the Simbas. Can anybody recommend or know of anyone who does Belgian paratroopers for this period.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply Julian. I was going to do this in 28mm using Wars of Insurgency rules. I was just wondering whether any manufacturer does 1960’s Belgian paratroopers or any troops I can proxy for them.

What about the Congo mercenaries from Mongrel Miniatures? They don't quite match up exactly, but with a proper paint job, some of them might proxy...
They are available from Badger Games here in the States....

There’s a thread on here by a chap who used the plastic WG British paras with weapon swaps.

That was going to be my suggestion as well.

Thanks for the replies chaps. Based in England, so might have to pass up on the Mongrel miniatures range, but thanks for the suggestion CapnJim. Will definitely look into the Warlord Games British paras. Cheers

If you're looking for nice figures with FN rifles and decent webbing, then the RAR minis from Eureka would be a good starting point, would need head swaps.
That said; the Britannia mercs will be rather large in comparison...
Just found a pic of some with heads from Empress IndoChina range:

Oh yeah, that is a great idea. Just toss a few berets on as well, and you are good.

That’s great, thanks Ash and Commissar

Some of Eureka's Aden Emergency British might work, too, with appropriate head swaps...
