Title: Beholder for Battlesystem 2e
Post by: Galadrin on March 05, 2022, 08:35:11 PM
I thought I'd share this, a classic Grenadier Beholder that I will be using for Battlesystem 2e (both the main game and the Skirmish supplement).

I'm starting to shift my interest towards solo-gaming for the foreseeable future. Luckily, I have over the years gathered a decent collection of games from the 1990's, which is (give or take a few years) the era of games I like to collect. To adapt my AD&D 2e collection, my thought is to use Battlesystem 2e Skirmish to play out interesting scenarios from the various adventure modules in my collection, creating a rolling roster of the "player-characters" (really just "characters", as I am only gaming solo) involved. Once I have things in order, I may even post a few of these game sessions as battle reports, if there is interest.

In modern times, always interested to hear about solo gaming options, how they played out etc.

But also, happy to see some of other peoples collections  :D

I should say that I do not have any particular method or technique to solo-gaming. I've been solo-gaming since the start of COVID some two years ago and have found wargames work perfectly without any need for additional rules. One simply plays each side as well as possible and the aim is to see what happens. Solo-wargames have since become for me more enjoyable than the alternative. Essentially turning AD&D modules into scenario books for the Battlesystem 2e wargame is simply a way to leverage the great success I've had with soloing wargames. I won't be doing much in the way of solo-RPGing per se, but I'll be reading through the modules to get the right narrative and context for the scenario. If I keep characters the same between modules, I'll update their character sheets as necessary in order to correctly convert them to the wargame rules for the latest scenarios.
