Second figure from right.
We are gearing up to start a new Victorian steam-punk type RPG campaign, probably in late April (Savage Worlds/Space 1889 Red Sands for rules). One player has made considerable progress on his character, and picked the above miniature. When I showed him the painted version later, he was pleased. But it is an older Foundry figure, and small by current standards. Today the figure my wife wants to use arrived in the mail, and as I feared it towers over the Foundry figure. Like, 1/3 taller.
I don't think any of us are particularly scale obsessed, but I am curious if anyone knows of a figure similar to the Foundry figure above, but somewhat larger. I am not that familiar with Pulp/VSF figure ranges, but so far I have come up dry. The setting is late 1880s, and the character is a ship's officer/captain type. The figure does not need to be notably steam punky (steam punkish?), as I see the steam punk tech revolving more around ships, tanks, killer robots, etc., than personal devices. But a steam-punk component to the figure certainly does not rule it out.
So, any suggestions?

No picture showing Michael.

Yeah... working on it! Not sure what I am doing wrong with the link.
-
Yea, that worked!
You know, that is just an excellent pack of figures, in general.

It is a good pack.
Maybe the Malto Cortese from Northstar?
-
What range is that figure in?
I did find this fellow while mooching on the North Star site just now:

"The Lead Adventurer". We may perhaps even have him around here, somewhere...

That's the one I meant :)

He's dandy - and a very close match. Wasn't he a promotional figure for LAM at some point? I think we have him, but a quick look in the "L" miniature drawer didn't turn him up. If we can't find him soon I may put an order in to North Star - or Brigade Games, if they have him.
Thanks for the help. I had forgotten about that figure.

No worries :)

Pulp Alley also have the Captain Wolf character that is a very close match.
-
He does look good, lethallee61. Thanks. I don't have any of their figures - anyone know what they are like, in terms of scale?
-Michael

They match up very well with most current ranges. Larger than Foundry and a close match for Pulp Figures or Crooked Dice figures.
-
Thanks. May try to pick him up. I like that pose - all three versions.

About a month late on this party but here are all three. I put Corto on a penny to show the difference between he and the foundry version. I think there is a Crooked Dice version too
-
Due to the natural variation in humans, you can use any figure you fancy.
-
Thanks, CPT Shanks!
As soon as they are all painted I will take a group shot of the party and post here.

While there's natural variation, that's not always workable if you're depicting a *specific* person who, like Corto here, is always shown as a very tall fellow.
