My son kitbashed and painted up this fellow:

And here's how he did it:

That is pretty damn cool. your son has talent.

Nice work.

Nice one! I particularly like the eyes.

Oh yes!

Takes after his Mum then? lol lol lol
Nice work from the young Neophyte.
-
Love it 👍
-
Nicely done! Respect!
-
Thanks, chaps!
He's just put up a 'how to' painting video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLcOeYGfqJc
-
I envy him the steady hand to do two highlights on the eyes!
-
This needs to stop.
Now.
I can't cope with this level of painting talent in someone younger than most of my underwear.
And he's even better as a film maker and presenter.
Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh
-
LOL that's pretty funny but you should be proud of the inspiration you've been to him. Cool thing to bond over with your son. And now you'll always have an opponent to game with too.
-
Thanks very much - he's delighted with the feedback! He's got a new video coming up soon, but here are a couple of other things he's done recently.
The first, which he built and painted a while back without completing the base, is a scratch-built 'sand beast' made from tinfoil and Fimo. The second is a 'bead bot' in the style of the amazing Bill Making Stuff (https://www.youtube.com/c/BillMakingStuff)YouTube channel. It's made from wire, beads and a pencil-sharpener, although I think he cut the rotary blade from plasticard.
-
The lad definitely has talent.
-
Thanks!
Here's his latest video:

It's about how he made this beastie (from some computer game, apparently ...):
-
Like the video - impressive conversion.
-
The lad definitely has talent.
I would definitely echo that! Brilliant work!
-
Thanks, guys - he's delighted with the feedback.
Here's something new - a tribute to The Thing. He made these from tinfoil and Fimo again; the big one will also make a handy chaos god in HOTT.

It is beautiful! I clicked the Like button too, of course.
-
And he does his own music... o_o
Not only liked but subscribed. :-*
-
Outstanding work!

Many thanks, guys - I've passed on all the comments, and he's very grateful for the encouragement!
He also did a short video just of the finished beasties:

Great work they are horrible if you know what I mean.
-
Thanks!
He's been producing even more horrible things recently - stranger things.
-
And here's how he did it:

Fascinating stuff. A very talented young man.
-
This is incredible! I've been at this hobby for over 30yrs and couldn't even begin to model my own minis...much less put together such a snazzy video! Fantastic!
-
Very impressive work, very talented.
-
Some very nice detail on the sculpts, and impressive stop motion! Enjoyed the commentary too.
A lot of more established channels could take a leaf out of that editing book. A fan of Bill Making Stuff (https://www.youtube.com/c/BillMakingStuff)?
-
Son of Hobgoblin is an incredibly talented artist. I foresee great things for him in the future. Weta Worskshop? Industrial Light and Magic maybe?
-
He's certainly a natural at sculpting. In particular the motion and poses are very well thought out and executed - no static figures here!
-
Many thanks, all, on his behalf!

Yes, indeed - and he's just posted a tribute:

These are the bead bots in question:
-
Awesome I really like your videos too.
-
Excellent work. :-*

Seconded!

Hobgoblin has videos too?

Dan
Nope!
-
Here's the latest - a spot of 80s nostalgia in this one (although it's the beastie from Prey):

-
Very impressive. I wouldn't even have the patience
for all those 'baked for 20 minutes' lol lol lol
-
Thanks (on his behalf)!
I know - but the one thing about Fimo is that you can keep baking things and so make faster progress than with any other clay over a given evening. It helps when there's a stew in the oven already, so that little plates of part-sculpted monster can be slipped in and out ...

So long as they don't slip into the stew...
-
Here's the same beast - only bigger! Happy Halloween!

Gifted lad you have there mate. Happy Halloween! 🎃
-
That is superb.
I sincerely hope some of the people answering the door will say:
"There's something out there waiting for us, and it ain't no man!"
or
"What the hell are you?!"
-
Nice, oh and cute too. :D
