wondered if anyone can comment / illustrate how the Copplestone / Northstar Rogue Star figures mix with the official Stargrave figures?
Have done extensive googling etc, and I'm assuming the Rogue figures are a bit (noticeably) larger than the Stargraves?
-
Hi Bloggard,
I have some of both and I say they were pretty much the same sort of size IMHO, but some others opinions may differ?
Cheers
Glen

cheers Glen.
any chance of a photo?
-
Maybe tomorrow, but no promises, I have quite a few Copplestone/EM4 future wars figs and a fair bit of Stargrave ;)
-
whenever / if you get the chance - would be great Glen. :)
-
Same size.
No photos I'm afraid, most of them are black undercoated at the moment anyway.
Can't speak for the plastics though, just the metals.
-
cheers Giles.
interesting - would have thought the RS figs were a little bigger.
-
The sizes of the figures do vary so the female figures are smaller as one would expect, some of the robots of both ranges are taller than human figures, some of the aliens are smaller, but then that could also be explained. :-)
I freely mix the two ranges.
-
thanks Giles.
btw - don't let a black undercoat put you off :D a photo of 'em in that state would still be very helpful.
People see these things quite differently (going by other 'comparison' posts etc I've looked at online).
Of course- I appreciate that setting up a photo of such could certainly be a bit of a bother.

I would say the metal figures are taller and bulkier than the plastic figures, but I'd have no issue using them on the table together.

IIRC L to R, Metal Rogue Stars, Metal Stargrave, Metal Rogue Stars, Plastic Stargrave, Metal Copplestone, Plastic Stargrave and Metal Rogue Stars.

nozza - that's fantastic, thank you very much.
With aging eyesight, I find the plastics a bit small.
But I can see it both ways - they have a lot of character.
Anyhow, I can see now why the metal s/graves are thought to be ok with the Rogue Star figs.
could you tell me which range the 'metal copplestone' is from, if not Rogue Stars (can't see it in the range photos)?

Just checked and it's from the Copplestone Future Wars range (Terminator Robots).
-
thanks, great.

That';s my take, the Grave plastics do seem shorter and dumpier.
Instead I have bought some of the Gates of Antares plastics which are taller and slimmer. These fit with the Grave and RS metals no probs.
But that is personal preference.
However they are not as flexible in terms of build.
So as ever YMMV.
-
yes - Antares are a bit taller I think. Lots of v. nice metals in that range too.
Anyhow, with a bit of luck I should have some material tomorrow-ish, and I'll post a pic of my own if so.

What I forgot to say, is that the Rogue Stars figures have their own integral base, which will add a mm to their height.
-
yes - I have a few figures from both ranges now, and will post a pic myself.
I do like the Stargrave sculpts a lot.
-
aaaand here's a pic of the figs I now have to hand:

RStar 'bot', two SGrave plastics, two RStar 'enforcers', two SGrave metals, RStar 'bot'.
hmmm, should have lined 'em up on the 'z' axis a bit better than that - apologies, but hopefully of some use.
*figure refs corrected.
-
I think I am having a brain cramp- what brand is RP?
-
Suspecy a typo - they're Rogue Star figures.
-
apologies - figure refs. corrected.
