Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if any of you fine folk have been to the UK games expo at the NEC birmingham.
I am planning on going with a couple of mates on the Saturday and Sunday. I have never been before and wonder if it's worth the trip. I'm based in Glasgow so it's a fair trek.
I play bolt action and 40k and have a passion for scenery.
Look forward to hearing from you folks.

I went a few years ago (maybe 4or5). It was then very heavily weighted towards board games and RPGs. There were some miniature companies there, mainly looking at the D&D sort of market. Very little in the way of scenery.
It may have changed. I'd go again if my boardgamery eldest wanted to, but wouldn't make a trip to satisfy my wargaming itch.

My mate and his family go each year - but it is very much a board game show. If you are into board games then its great - if just after wargames stuff, probably not so much

This was my fear. Thanks for the replies. I think we'll probably give it a miss then.

Probably better looking at the Carronade,Targe and Claymore show's for your wargaming fix.
Not heard anything about the Glasgow that had started up again a few Years ago.Only had one show then covid hit.

Personally I love it and I'm not a board gamer, it's just a very different vibe from a wargames show and you can pick up stuff you wouldn't normally see. That said, I wouldn't come all the way from Glasgow for it.

I concur with Westbury. it is primarily a board .game event but equally enjoyable with a different feel to a purely wargames show. TT Combat were there last year. It was interesting to see some of the games coming through. I will look to go as I arrive back in the UK on the 1st June. Ironic as Atlanta is having a games show in June I believe. Missed several UK wargames shows but catch a board game one.
