Title: Stargrave in Sacramento
Post by: mikos khan on May 03, 2022, 02:04:11 AM
Our local gaming group recently tried our hand at Stargrave with a five way matchup involving a relic hunt in the remains of a war ravaged city.  My group (a cat themed force) was initially getting the worst of it until the aggressive Martians rashly advanced into the open and took my place as the  punching bag.  When we called the game both me and the Martians had both lost our captains and first mates.  Meanwhile the treacherous Bluebacks had lost a figure while the Quar had not taken any casualties.  Based on figures lost the Quar won this round but I was the only player to get any loot off the table so I am claiming victory based on that (of course the other players may not agree).  I am sure that this will be first of many matchups.

That was a fun way to learn the rules.  It's similar to Frostgrave but different too. I've been assembling and painting my crew.

Looks like the Cat Sisters are still alive and well in your minis collection.

The terrain - painted resin or aquarium terrain?   Looks good either way.

Here are a few photos of our most recent Stargrave game.  The game was pretty much a free for all and the pictures were taken randomly throughout the game so there is no real sequence to them but I've tried to put them in a semblance of order to try to capture the favor of the game.

Good to get more practice in with Stargrave.  Each time we get a little more familiar with these rules.

I really like fielding my Quar.  However I take a lot of ribbing when I do.  Like, what do they ride QUARter horses  They will be granted no QUARter.  Isolate them, put them in QUARantine.  etc.

Great game break down! Just found this post. Might have to take a closer look at the stargrave minis and get me some.
