I want to build up units for games during the Portuguese occupation of Ceylon in 28mm. I’ll be using Pikeman’s Lament rules, anyone know where I can find figures for the Indians?
-
There was a US company that made some minis from roughly that period- quite nice ones- but alas I can't recall the name. Swordsmen, archers and armoured minis amongst them.

You could look at Indian Mutiny ranges. There are a number of rebels
that are armed with melee style weapons. Perhaps some of the Rajs troops
would work as well.

I think Big Red Bat was referring to Indus Miniatures.

Not sure if they are still trading or not, however.

Never knew Ireland had a marine corps! Learn something new every day. ;)
Strictly speaking, you want Sinhalese figures for the Kingdom of Kandy. I'm unaware of any specific figures so I suspect the Hindu militia in the Indus range are your best bet as proxies.

Thanks everyone.

I have some of those and they are very nice figures.
Since mercenaries seem to be a common factor of Indian armies of the time, would the Pindari and/or the Marathas also be appropriate?

I contacted Old Glory but they don’t have any Indian troops either. But I think at this point I just might use all of the figures from Indus and use some Muslim troops as well.
