Title: Battle of Northallerton in 10mm
Post by: rampantlion on May 27, 2022, 04:02:15 PM
Im going to do the Battle of Northallerton in 10mm I think.  Any thoughts on the best late normans and good unarmoured Scots for this scale?  There seem to be quite a few choices out there and I also like to mix mfgs for more variety so any comments on comparisons would be great also.

Thanks

Generally 10mm infantry is pretty compatible across ranges - which is good news as you can mix and match between manufacturers.

Cavalry (due to the horses) does seem to vary a lot more in size/bulk so its probably good to pick a favourite manufacturer and check if others scale to this.

This is one of the few eras I don’t have 10mm figures for, so not quite sure which ranges would be best. But I would suggest that its is worth looking in some later ranges for the unarmoured figures, as certainly in Pendraken’s catalogue you are likely to find some that might fit even as late as their Renaissance range.

I’ve got a fair few pendrakens - they’re great but personally I prefer magister militias horses, only an issue for me in a couple of ranges but the MM ones have a nice smooth slightly chunkier style
