Dusted down the Galactic Heros rules today and got a game on the table. Certainly proved an enjoyable little excursion.
The Extraction of Vicky Windsor
===========================
After an unfortunate encounter with some bounty hunters, Smuggler and Intelligence operative Vicky Windsor has been stranded in the out of the way outpost of Neeb.sah. With the forces of the local Strong Man Bek Tang closing in, there was a race on for the extraction team from the Inner Planets ship Jupiter to secure Vicky Windsor and the information she carried.
This was a game run using the Galactic Hero's Rule Set with two standard teams of 5. Vicky was in "Joe's Bar" in the centre of the board and it would take 1 turn doing nothing to uncover her before being able to start the extraction. There was a Grav Car in place required to quit the area rapidly.
There was a joker in the pack which would, on a roll of 6+ mean the Robots getting involved. This they did not, but a passer by did.
1) Vicky Windosr
2) Joe's Bar and some patrons
3) Some off world robots minding their own business
4) Bek Tang's "Law Enforcers" - the leader would be taken out on the second turn, caught fatally in a blast

Even your post was an adventure...pictures side-ways and upside down... lol

Never ceases to amaze me - on my computer they are all the right way up - load them up, and they go through a worm hole and well, you see the result. Dizzyness and disorientation!
-
1) The view from the enforcers end of the street with the Grav Car ready for the get away
2) The extraction team moving up and taking cover - men in red reminds of Star Trek security guys - bound to come to a sticky end
3) The Enforcers have just lost their leader caught in a blast
4) Enforcers take cover to cover off exits and Extraction team leader and one other disappear behind building to get to the entrance to the bar.
-
1) Enforcers hit back, the covering force is brought low
2) Passer by joins in and attacks unsuspecting guy in red who is wounded and finished off by and finished off by an enforcer the following go
3) Into the Grav Car ready to drive off
4) The Grav Car was successfully started and the extraction achieved. Shame about the guys in Red.

Testing having saved in paint.
It is interesting the load logic, a file saved from my phone, even a jpg is inverted. Just open and save in paint and seems to orient correctly.

Looks like a fun game Gregor.
I do recognize some bits, but you have added to them well.
Thanks for the reference

INCIDENT ON MILETUS IV
------------------------------
The Centre for Xenobiological Research on Miletus IV was a hive of activity. The Klaxons had sounded and red flashing lights were everywhere. This was not a drill. The landing pods had only been detected very late. They seemed to be of a biological make up which was not recognized by the orbiting sensors delaying warning being given.
Less than twenty four hours ago an alien life form had been found washed up on the local beach. It was barely alive so had been brought in for quarantine and observation. If it died then it would make for interesting dissection. Some staff members felt there was something wrong, but were dismissed as over sensitive or imagining things. But there was no doubt some of the sensors detected unusual alpha wave activity.
The Klaxons were blaring out their shrill cry. Sgt Myers called out the assembly point for her CXR security squad. Nearby a squad of Lab Assistants had armed up and awaited, awaited what? The pods were descending rapidly and right onto their position.
The protagonists -
1) CXR Security in power armour
2) CXR Lab Assistants
3) Aliens
-
The 4 forces deployed on the four sides of the terrain, the Aliens (WH40K Tyrranids) on the board edge, the CXR (GZG Nuns with Guns) troops 6” in. The Lab Assistants basically went for defended position and the Security squad wandered up the middle taking pot shots.
-
The Aliens could not put the CXR down. A lab assistant was wounded turn 2 but recovered immediately (Queen of Hearts). Sergeant Myers took out 5 personally in melee and shooting, and no headway was made against the Assistants on the roof – the leader dodging the bullet literally of a heavy blaster, and helping colleagues put down a four clawed monstrosity in hand to hand. An emphatic victory to the CXR. The game ended with zero casualties to the Lab Assistants, one dead one lightly wounded and one routed back down to the labs for the Security squad, and about 3 figures left for the Aliens. Importantly a fun game.
Thanks to has.been for the Plant Life.

That’s a good looking game. Where are the buildings from?
-
Thanks to has.been for the Plant Life.
Nice to see you using it. :D
-
The Buildings are card from various Games Workshop publications.
-
Thanks for the information about the buildings. I think they look pretty good. They’re not widely available anymore (I assume), but the Dave Graffam paper models and similar ones should create a similar effect.
