Title: Swiss of the Great Italian Wars
Post by: Frostie on May 29, 2022, 07:44:14 AM
Hello All,

I know things were far from uniform in the 16th century but I was hoping someone could point me to or provide a colour guide for the Swiss Cantons involved in Italy during the Italian Wars period.

Did each Canton have a particular 'popular' colour scheme or just colours that they prefered?

Also Swiss flags, my Google-foo is failing me lol

Thanks

Here are some Swiss flags that Lancashire Games kindly makes available as a free download.  For Swiss in French service a white cross of St.Denis features, Pete's Flags does nice ones.

This unit of Swiss in French service is painted in accordance with what we know for such troops.

Second the recommendation for Pete's Flags.  They are brilliant.  YOu can find him on ebay.
