Title: R'lyeh, Acolyte of Rooth, Human Thane (The Red Book of the Elf King) 01/07/2022
Post by: einarolafson on June 17, 2022, 03:27:27 PM
I had the chance to paint a set of Root Elf Skyclads from Lucid Eye Publications (https://www.lucideyepublications.com/product-page/root-elf-skyclads). I really enjoyed it as they are quite easy to paint. The guy with the big axe is Ragvhan Earsplitter, a Troll Thane, by Lucid Eye Publications (https://www.lucideyepublications.com/product-page/ragvhan-earsplitter) too.

They are covered in warpaint, pale green and black, and yes, no clothes  :).

I intend to use them for their original purpose, for The Red Book of the Elf King, and its companion book Troll Wars, again by Lucid Eye Publications. But they might see life in other rulesets at some point.

Nicely done. I like the pallid tone of the skyclads and your highlighting on Thane Earsplitter.

It's nice to see some of this range painted up. I picked up the books a while back as an alternative skirmish ruleset, but I haven't gotten it on the table yet.

 Great work on these.

Love the colours that you have used.

Got a lot of miniatures from this range and the two books.Had another order arrive last Week.

They now have a 30% off sale until the end of June.

I am now interested in the other set of rules they have released.

Are the Skyclad Elves in the Red Elf King books?

Cheers.

Are the Skyclad Elves in the Red Elf King books?

They are and not at the same time,  :). There are a bunch of scenarios, in one of them there is a forest spirit (Rootgnawer the Elking) and his elves . They appear randomly in the forest and attack the players. So I decided to use the Root Elf for that. Another idea I was thinking is to use them as Lowic the Hero of the Eccana's companions.

Lovely work on lovely miniatures  :-*

Edit:  I used some Westfalia Miniatures for my wild elves.

Very cool, do they more than one set of the sky clad elf's. Likes ones with range weapons?

Thanks. They do a musician and another set of skyclads, then there are archers, spearmen, cavalry and characters wearing a bit more clothing on them, I'll mix them in the same group.

Title: Human Thane

R'lyeh, Acolyte of Rooth (https://www.lucideyepublications.com/product-page/r-lyeh-acolyte-of-rooth), Lucid Eye's exclusive Shadows of Centralis miniature. I'll be using this figure as a human Thane for The Red Book of the Elf King, though unconsciously, I painted him as a Champion of Khorne lol lol.

Top notch :-*
I got him with the new rules, so I presume you did too. Funnily enough I was sent a second copy with an additional miniature, sent Lucid Eye an email et cetera,no response,so I guess I got a freebie. Perhaps for being a good customer  ;D
