Here are 2 of 5 French Battalions I recently re-based for Barry Hilton’s Beneath the Lily Banners rules for the League of Augsburg period.
Veteran French Regiment Navarre first and the Clare Regiment of the Irish Brigade next.
The flags are mainly by David of Not By Appointment and I find them very pleasing.
The figures are mainly from Irregular Miniatures.
Should you wish to see the remaining three (Berwick’s, Greder and Tournaiss) here is the link. It is the German Greder battalion not the Swiss one.

Lovely work! Those Irregular figures are cracking looking chaps, they look the part. great stuff! :)

Thanks Jambo. I really like the Irregular figures and they are a good fit with Essex too. I'm just about to take pic's of the next 5 battalions.

Very nice regiments, OB👍.

Much appreciated, they were a pleasure to paint.

My French Heavy Cavary are now rebased for Beneath the Lily Banners. All 6 squadrons. I've changed the title of this thread rather than do a new one.
The figures are all from Irregular Miniatures.
If you would like a look here is the link.

Nice work, an also-ran period for me that never even got up from a crawl. Will have to check out the flag company in case they have items that do fit my collections.

Thanks. David at Not by Appointment's flags are for the 7YW so if that's your thing do visit. Luckily for me many of the French flags had not changed since the League of Augsburg period.

Very nice indeed. Regrettably, I think that 15mm is too small for me now otherwise I would have gone down that route when I started again. I'm still assembling Louis XIVs Irish battalions in 28mm (Warlord Games because they were cheaper, although there are better sculpts) -just 2 to go. There's surprisingly more information on the uniforms online than I first though. Eventually I got hold of the Pike and Shot Society's book on French uniforms and flags which, for me, was well worth the wait and cost.
The LoA is very tempting I'll admit, especially when I see such well painted figures (far above my 'best viewed from 4 feet' standard).

Thanks Zozimus. It is a great period to game.
If you are looking for flags Ray at Don't Throw a 1 blog also has quite a few.
I'm often tempted by the bigger scales but I'm too invested in 15mm to change tack.

I have long wanted to do my League of Augsburg dragoons mounted, dismounted and with horses and horse holders. It was the last part that I kept putting off. The job is now complete as far as the French go.
Regiments Firmacon (green) and Pomponne (red) are now done to the Beneath the Lily Banners requisite standard. The BLB point being that if you stray too far from your stationary horses you might lose them.
You can see more pics of them and some French Hussars by clicking the link.
