I have seen a few reviews of the Army Painter Speed Paint range and thought l would try them out.
I had a few Foundry Pirates floating about that would be an ideal project, a Rebels & Patriots Treasure Island stockade attack scenario posted on the relevant FB group had caught my interest so l set to work.
I tried a black undercoat with white zenithal highlight first, they looked ok but decided to stick with a plain white undercoat.

I am happy with the result, l wasn't so happy when the colours ran when l tried to brush on Matt varnish, l had to spray vanish instead with no issues.
The characters are next on the paint bench.

They look great :)

They have loads of character, great painting on still the best pirate figure to have been released in my own humble opinion. ;)

Love 'em :-*

Love the Foundry pirates! The speed paints worked well on them, indeed.
