Title: Victrix Greek question?
Post by: Tim Haslam on August 05, 2022, 08:51:11 AM
The Athenian armoured Hoplites and Mercenary armoured hoplites look remarkably similar?
Is this the case, are they just the same?
Or maybe helmet variants?
The bodies look identical?

Thanks

The only differing items are the helmets and also the Athenians have a cloak whereas the mercenaries have a waist-sash option. The athenians also have a left hand holding a corinthian helmet which may be crested while the mercenaries have a right arm that can hold a spear.

That chap would be Athenian. I only have the mercenary box, but looking at the Victrix site, Corso has it right - the only differences are a few extra bits and the heads (pilos for Spartans, Boeotian for Thebans, mixed for the others, with Athenians looking earlier and mercs later.)
