We are renewing the older ranges and the first 2 packs are now ready. The velite command and velites in long furs.

The rest of the range will follow as they complete.

Excellent! I love the Phyrric/Successor figs I already have, and I have a notion to expand my Roman army soon, so it is good to know these are being re-released!
-
Keith, nice looking work. As I put in a post yesterday about the "Indian Topic" ,I think what you do to refresh your older ranges rather than just pursue new ventures is a very creditable approach.
This might persuade me that I need more Punic Wars Romans!
-
AHHH! Finally! It seemed like I was waiting forever to see the Republican Romans to return. Eagerly awaiting the rest of the Velites packs.
-
They are really lovely. But this means that the Byzantine and Dark Age stuff is all done? I'm going off to a dark space to cry.
-
Workshy, from previous correspondence with Keith I think the 6th/early7th century Byzantines are now complete. Can't comment about any further "Dark Age" ranges.
I must admit I find it quite laudable that Aventine refresh ranges. Moulds wear out and need to be re-worked. I once ordered some figures from Keith and he advised me to wait for the re-worked models as the moulds were on their last legs.
-
Does this mean the Etruscans are coming back soon?
-
Tim, I can't speak for Keith but back in June he said that the Republican Romans would be followed by the Italian Hill Tribes and Etruscans and maybe a diversion to cover Samnites.
-
Thanks
-
Tim, in my experience Aventine normally do what they say they will. It can sometimes just take longer than they initially predict. I waited two years for some re-mastered Thracians for my Successor army. The original prediction was six months! Still, they were worth waiting for.

Tim
Republicans now, Etruscans and Hill Tribes to follow. We are trying to fit in time to add samnite infantry to the Hill Tribes.
Time scale as stated is a guess at best. It depends on how much work Adam wants to do on the originals.
Next 2 velite packs today then it is the mail legionaries.

ooooh so cool. I've been looking forward to the Etruscans and Hill Tribes reappearing. Now will be better than before ! Can't wait.

The rest of the velites are now ready. RR03 have helmets and animal caps. We have done 8 different figures and each pack will have 4 of them.
Next up the Hastati and Principes.

Ordered the Velites and they are winging their way to me. Very quick service thanks Aventine
-
My order came in yesterday and I love all the variants in headgear (I think one of them has a badger on his head?!). I cannot wait to paint them up!
-
RR04 Advancing Hastati in pectoral armour with pilum have been added to our stores. There are 10 different figures in total and will be sold in packs of 4.

I have painted the UD200 advancing hastati unit deal, based for ADLG on Warbases 60 x 30mm bases and then used magnetic tape and a steel base to make them 60 x 60mm. Transfers from LBMS and painted by a whole host of paints.
