Hello folks,
I need your help. I am thinking to start a LRDG platoon for Chain of Command. Since the age of 8 I was impressed of the full packed trucks with the awesome looking crew on it.
I already have decided to go for the Artizan Designs range miniature. The last few days I am surfing the internet to find the best vehicle option to go with them. Warlord Games LRDG /SAS vehicles seem to fit very well. But then I recognized the range of chieftain models mentioned by Agis Neugebauer. Though it seems that these are no longer available.
Does someone know if another company is still selling the LRDG vehicles of Chieftain models? Or is there a chance that someone will spare these models.

Yep, Chieftain are long gone.
IIRC the masters went to a variety of sources. Company B in the US rings a bell for the majority of the desert war stuff (but I could well be wrong). The main difference in going to be that the originals from Crouchie were all pewter; waaaay too expensive to produce now (I had one of his Chieftain Tanks and the Hull weighed over 2.5lbs!)

Have you maybe considered 1/72 20mm instead - vehicles and perhaps more importantly aircraft to attack all readily available in a scale which can give a good game and won't break the bank or for that matter the loft... 2.5lbs indeed lol

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did but they seem to be a little on the smaller scale. Looking for something that fits to the Artizan miniatures. The drivers from the Chieftain Models were from Mike Owen too.

There are also the Rubicon plastic kit offerings, a 30cwt Chevy and an LRDG/SAS jeep. By far the most detailed vehicles and Rubicon kits are no ordeal to construct.
IIRC Captain Blood's desert war thread features a lot of them, exquisitely painted as you might expect.

There are lots of files available for 3D printing as well. I have scaled up some of the Bergman kits on Thingiverse and Wargaming 3D has one as well. Some nice crew figures are also around. While I have printed mine in 3D plastic, a friend did me some in resin and the quality is much better. I have also printed some stowage as well to use for the heavy loads that these truch carried. One of my stowage pieces is actually from a Finnish sled load and I made some mods to fit in the back. Another 3D guy was good enough to provide me with a file for British "flimsies" and they are part of the load. In the early days of the LRDG, they had no options for fuel until the Jerrycan became more readily available.

Thank you all guys for your time to answer. Very great.
I already checked at the Company B site and they have all the models from Chieftain still in production. I will go for these. They are done in resin and not in metal and have all the Mike Owen drivers etc. Exactly what I was looking for.
Maybe once I have them I will match them with the Bolt Action Chevy ones and check to buy these as well.
