Title: Lightyear Armadillo Dropship/Shuttle
Post by: Cat on August 13, 2022, 05:47:25 PM
The Hyperspeed Series Armadillo toy from the Lightyear movie is great for a 6mm Battlemech Dropship or a 28mm shuttle.  (There are other much larger versions.)

It can easily carry a lance or two of Assault mechs, or twoor three lances of Light mechs.

As-is, the cockpit is great for 28mm, needs a little bit of re-working for 6mm.

In the US, Target currently has them for $25.

Eilif share a pic of this in his ongoing spaceship thread. It looks amazing, but for some reason they're not selling it on this side of the pond.  :-[

This. And believe me; I checked... ::)

A real shame, because it's a rrally cool and useful design too.

I think Eilif has the larger one.

B&M's have quite a lot of the range including the larger Armdillo for £39.99.Link below to the range they have.

The Hotwheels set lookies like it has potential for gaming too.

No it was definitely the Hyperspeed one as he actually managed to fit it in one of his other spaceships.

Wow.  Could it work as-is for 15mm?

You would probably want to modify the cockpit windows.  The toy figures that are seen in the packaging are 28mm toe-eye.  The big assault mechs in my photo are ~2" from bottom of base to top of head.

I've got the hyper speed one. Great size for a 28mm or15mm lander.

I don't recall where I put the pic. But it does fit in the hold of my:

Yeah, that Paw Patrol one would carry quite a lot of Battlemechs, but would also take up quite a lot of real estate on an Alpha Strike tabletop.

Looks like it would work well as a 28mm Traveller Type S Scout Ship!

Thanks so much.  Yes, I would need to do something, to make the windows fit to 15mm.
