As the question says. Any suggestions for a small crew of armed heroes of that “era”?
Thanks
Dan
PS. Most of the figures I keep finding online are too late, like from the Persian or Punic Wars. I was hoping for something a few centuries older in look. Thanks.

You might find suitable plastic figures in the Caesar Miniatures Mycenaean and Trojan sets. It depends on how close to the Trojan war you think the Argonauts’ voyage fits. I have no idea what the current availability of those sets is.
If Mycenaean figures fit the time frame, Newline Designs has a 20mm range in metal. https://newlinedesigns.co.uk/product-category/newline-designs-20mm-ranges/newline-designs-20mm-ranges-ancients/newline-designs-20mm-mycenean/ (https://newlinedesigns.co.uk/product-category/newline-designs-20mm-ranges/newline-designs-20mm-ranges-ancients/newline-designs-20mm-mycenean/)
Aside from those, I am not sure - pre-hoplite Greek figure ranges are pretty limited…

Hi, as Pattus Magnus says a "few centuries older" than the Greek & Persian wars almost takes you to the Homeric period. Essex Miniatures produce some 15mm Mycenean period figures. If you are after some "early hoplites" in bell corselet and the full helmet again Newline produce some in 20mm or Forged in Battle produce some excellent figures in 15mm.

Museum Miniatures have some heroic looking 15mm Mycenaeans in their new 'Z' ranges

Big Mr Tong created a file for them. I sell his prints amongst others here.

I have printed them in 28mm only. I can try them in a smaller scale. Just let me know how tall and I'll try it if you are interested in those figs.
Thanks

I think the old Atlantic Greeks are very Hollywood Jason and the Argonauts. I am pretty certain they are still available.

Wow! Those are definitely the Hollywood style, but I really like them! Would it be possible to scale them down to 18mm tall (to top of head)?

Hi Dan. I'll try it out. Probably be Friday. I'll see how they turn out and let you know. If they look good I'll post pics.
Thanks

Thanks a million. No rush. I still have another army to put together and get painted up, before I can even touch the argonauts.

Hi, would 18.26mm tall work ok? To the top of the helmet.
Thanks

Top of the dome, not the crest, right? If you mean the top of the dome then that works perfectly. :)

Hi, yeah that's what I meant.
Thanks

If you fancy classical Hoplites in 18mm rather than Mycenaeans for the Argonauts then AB figures produce the most exquisite small scale hoplites out there. Tony Barton, the master craftsman of the smaller scales.
