Painted some test models. I went for a very dark look. Now onto the rest of the unit!
-
They look good :)
-
Nice job all around on the figures and basing!
-
These are awesome. they remind me of the Ralph Bakshi LotR fillm. That's a good thing!
Can you share the colors used?

Most excellent and inspiring!
-
Well done
-
They look great!
-
Looking very Orcish! Brilliant work on the grunge as well as the metallics. Loving it! 👍
-
Now those are orcs! 8)
Very well done; I like the muted, dark pallette contrasting with the fresh, flowery grass...
-
Unit finished and did some trolls as well 8)
-
Very nice orcs, and I love the colour scheme on the trolls! What was your inspiration?

Thank you! See the attached images. They are by Rien Poortvliet, a famous Dutch artist (who drew David the Gnome)

Those look excellent all around! As others have said, the trolls are very good - great choice of palette.
-
Excellent painting! Love the dark skin tone on the Orcs and those trolls are something else entirely! Superb!
-
Love these, they look great!
-
Great painting on those trolls, but also a good choice of miniatures. 8)
So; where are they from? (asking for a friend :D)
-
Like the use of rust effect on orc armour.
-
These are terrific - the trolls in particular! Brilliant colour scheme and execution - and the gloomy look of the orcs is great too!
-
Brilliant work!
-
The orcs look greta, but those trolls look amazing. Great paintwork all round. Well done.

Thank you all for the kind comments 8) I got swamped in work and will try to answer most questions as best I can. In tje mean time, here is s unit of Wargames Atlantic goblins I finished a while ago.
-
Beautifully done!
-
Very nicely done! I like the variety in how you’ve built them and the consistent painting and basing ties the unit together well.
-
Glorious goblins!
-
Gosh, these are fantastic! Very well done indeed, and some of the nicest-looking Goblin and Troll units I've seen for Oathmark!
I love the basing too; lush and "high fantasy", and the dark colours of the models really stand out against them. Top stuff! :D
-
Brilliant! 👏🏻
-
Yeah, those look superb.
-
Second unit of orcs finished and some characters too. The orc and goblin flags by Flags of War should be here soon so I can finally get my army flagged up.
-
Shoot, those look good 8)
OK; you've convinced me to get a box myself!
Wonderful paintjobs too btw... ;)
-
That’s beautiful work! The painting, basing, and overall effect is just great. I’m looking forward to seeing more!
-
These look great and are an inspiration for my own horde. They look really close to the box photos in their style.
Do you like the orc kit compared to the goblins? Also, do you know how they size up vs Frostgrave barbarains? I have a lot of the latter that I'm not sure what to do with and I was thinking about trying to turn them into orcs with headswaps.
-
I haven’t converted Frostgrave barbarians into orcs with head swaps, but I have used Frostgrave barbarian arms (and gnoll and cultist arms) on the Oathmark orc bodies to get orcs with 2-handed weapons. You can see them here: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=132213.60 (https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=132213.60). Pics of them painted are later in the same thread.
Putting orc heads on barbarian bodies might actually be easier than what I did (didn’t consider that at the time). One thing about that conversion, the Frostgrave barbarians and Oathmark orcs use a different joint to attach the heads. Frostgrave barbarians have a ‘neck’ that fits into a depression on the body, and the orcs have a depression on the back of each head, which mates with a lump on the shoulders. That is not hard to overcome (I find gluing a neck stump made of sprue off cut into the orc head is easy, then trim it to fit the spot where it will go), but it does add some steps.
Post some pics if you decide to give barbarian orcs a spin, I would like to see how that works!

Great looking band!

Thanks! This was super helpful.

Flags added! All by Flags of War

Those look brilliant (in a dark and foreboding sort of way)! They fit great with the rest of the painting on the figures.
-
Grand! Keep them coming!
