I've been doing some moving around lately so I haven't yet had a chance to get a big group photo in of my Boshin War project, but I did do a few conversions which some may find of interest. In order to do some Denshūtai for the Shogunate army I took Bac Ninh's Imperial/Shogunate infantry figures as a base, used Westwind Productions' WW2 British heads (basically unmodified except for filing down the necks a bit so they fit), and some heavily modified packs from Oshiro's Boxer Uprising Japanese infantry (which I did paint up as well, just without the packs).

Love it mate!
Those helmets and backpacks are Spot on!
I haven't finished mine yet with Havelocks, but I may have to nick your idea ;)

Aha! Well I did do a batch of havelock guys, but I quietly cheated and used Perry's Alabama militia, unmodified.

Nicely done :)
