Hi all,
I got the idea of making some aeroneufs and general fantasy/sci-fi. I found it hard to justify buying into a new range, particularly one I'll probably abandon in five minutes, so went the super cheap option (I'm part of a really inspiring Facebook group). Hope you like!

They work very well. Back in the late 90's we built fleets of playtest 'Nefs from plastic card and repurposed drop tanks and bombs from 1/48 or 1/32 aircraft kits.
You can use the same approach to make very cool Land Trains as bombing/attack targets for your 'Nefs too.

I approve. I would try to make even bigger and longer ones with longer popsicle sticks, and more layers, but that is me being crazy!

Ever come back to see how a post of yours is doing only to realize you merely worked out a post in your mind, alone? ::)

If you look at the images in the original Aeronef, seems exactly what they did, half a bomb for a 'nef, a whole bomb for a dig.
However, for those of us who don't have piles of old models to fall back on, Hasagawa and others have boxes of just weapons, which are great for those of us who also like wars in space, as some of the missiles seem a bit difficult to do as VSF. Heck, some of the canard fined ones speak of Fireball XL-5 to me.
However, genius for these scratchbuilts; quick and satisfying, no?
At this point I normally go a tangent for various found objects, like handles of disposable razors and plastic cutlery, but I'll leave off my usual tedious old man thing...

Edit: I suddenly seem to have an issue with dropping my I's!

Wow, this sort of stuff takes me back to the days when I used to make tiny spaceships out of small Legos and other small bits.
Fantastic!

I got the idea of making some aeroneufs...
Curious about the spelling: your own or seen somewhere else? Intriguing!

Funny you should mention construction blocks, Dan.
As I tend to do better at destruction rather than construction, I've been hacking some Nanoblocs(sp?) to get small cylinders on raised, flat planes, Monitor-esque turrets don't you see.
Idea needs further work, but have a spoon handle 'nef and going to try turreted digs, shortly.

You might look at what I had done for Imperial Skies.
Still unpainted, though... waiting for the right time.

Those really deserve to be painted up and used in some aeronef themed game.

Thanks,

Haha, loving the replies, sorry I seem to have missed them!
I got around to adding another two today. Next I'd like some larger and smaller!

I have some leftover 2mm models from Irregular, so I'll try painting them up in the same colours!
