Managed to get hold of these chaps, some from my original "good forces" from the late 70s. Based for Royal Armies of the Hyborean Age, 12 Cav, 24 Inf or 30 Inf for guard. The line Infantry have been painted in 12s but can work as 24 fig units.
The chaps are all from the Garrison S&S ranges except for the Crossbowmen and Adventurers who are from the Garrison Medieval range.

That’s an impressive collection! Armies in “high medieval” style with heraldry and fairly bright clothing, whether in historical or fantasy settings, look very eye catching. It’s great to see classic figures in battle array, too.

Nice & nostalgic at the same time. Well done.

Now you’re talking 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I love the simplicity of these old figures.
I looked and looked at them for ages but when I was ready to buy they has stopped selling them.

Swift Nick, it would be worth pinging Rob an email!

Oh will do!
Thanks.

With an Aquilonian army incoming I am intrigued about your basing and thoughts on rules?
-
Great news!
I am basing them for using Royal Armies of the Hyborian Age, still available to download. I have been quite anal about army/ unit sizes not always so with paint schemes and will use markers so I wont need to have figures based singly. I will also use them with the Fantastic battles rules
-
I will have a look for those rules although quite committed to Dragon Rampant. At last rules so simple even i can remember them.
-
Royal Armies are very 70s! Never tried Dragon Rampant although a quick look shows it probably not best suited to a 20 x 8 table!, are you UK based?
-
Yes i am in Shetland.
-
Bit far for a quick game!
-
I might surprise you, mind I almost came down for the woods in the woods.
-
Always a bed and a big table - see "Tales from the Wargames Shed"....
-
This is just fantastic. Ooozes vintage goodness!
-
I have downloaded the rules and basing looks reasonable and very much simplified.

They are, my Aquilonians should be finished tonight so will give them a go next week, meanwhile the Turanians are on the panzer painting trolly.
