Hello,
I guess there must be some Napoleonic wargamers out there, who visited the battlefield already and could give some advice concerning a good accomodation on or near to the battlefield (30 min. walk max.). Thank you in advance!

I've stayed here 4 times spread over nearly 20 years. I like it and would go back again.

I've only ever had a car so I am not sure if it is within the 30 minutes - but it is a 2 minute walk to the Wellington Museum in Waterloo.

How about Hougoumont? You can now stay at the epicentre of the battlefield:

@Sterling: Now that is phantastic - it doesn' t get any better does it? Have to check price and availability next.

There is a bus that goes from the center of Waterloo to the battlefield. Last time I was there I stayed in Brussels and took the train. One of the stations is about a 30-minute walk to the battlefield.
